Gulf of Chiriquí Lodges: Boca Chica, Islas Paridas & Cambutal
The Gulf of Chiriquí is Panama's other major fishing hub, and it's home to more lodges than any other stretch of coast, because it sits closest to Hannibal Bank, the offshore seamount that put this region on the map.

The "Hannibal Bank" Name Confusion
Here's a gotcha no other Panama lodge comparison flags: a lodge operator marketed online as "Hannibal Lodge Panama" has rebranded to Hannibal Expeditions, and its flagship multi-day package isn't anywhere near Hannibal Bank. It's based at Hacienda del Mar Resort in the Las Perlas archipelago, on the opposite side of the country from the Gulf of Chiriquí seamount its old name references.

It's a genuinely good option for Las Perlas inshore fishing and spearfishing, but if you searched "hannibal lodge panama" hoping to fish the actual Hannibal Bank seamount off Chiriquí or Coiba, this isn't that trip. Islas Secas: Luxury Resort, Not a Dedicated Fishing Lodge
Islas Secas gets lumped into "best Panama fishing resorts" lists constantly, and it's worth being blunt about what you're actually buying. Per its own 2026/27 rate sheet, this is a $3,500-to-$54,750-a-night eco-luxury resort across its own archipelago in the Gulf of Chiriquí, with a three-night minimum stay. Diving, wakeboarding, e-foiling, daily spa treatments, and seasonal whale watching are all included.
Fishing is included too, but only as one half-day fishing trip within the Islas Secas archipelago per stay. Deep-sea fishing and trips out to Coiba National Park are explicitly excluded from the standard rate and booked as separate excursions. That's a fundamentally different product from Tropic Star or Sport Fish Panama Island Lodge, where multi-day fishing is the entire point of the trip.
